Getting to the Catskills
Iesha lives in Philly so Greta and Megan flew into PHL. For this trip, we partnered with Toyota and got to drive the 2023 Lexus NX 350h Luxury AWD and it was the perfect road trip car. It fit three suitcases and all of our tote bags in the trunk and the seats were so comfortable. Each seat had a USB charger and seat heater and the panoramic sunroof was the perfect way to drive through the beautiful Catskills. From PHL it’s a three-and-a-half to four-hour drive to the Wylder Windham. Make sure you turn Waze on so you know the best ways to avoid traffic.
About the Wylder Windham
Types of Rooms
Farmhouse – For three babes and Iesha’s son, the Farmhouse was perfect. This house has four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a dining room, and a full kitchen. The beds were insanely comfortable and we loved late nights chatting by the fire.
If you don’t want to book the entire farmhouse, guests can choose from a collection of Suites and King- and Queen-bedded rooms featuring oak floors, custom furniture, and luxurious bathrooms. Several of the rooms also have large balconies with views of Windham Mountain or the Batavia Kill River.
Things to Do On Property at Wylder Windham
Take a Dip in the Heated Pool – The Wylder Windham has an awesome heated pool with chairs and umbrellas. We spent a sunny Friday afternoon by the pool and enjoyed lunch and drinks from Babblers while we soaked and sunned.
Relax in the Wood-Fired Saunas – There are so many health benefits to visiting a sauna. Plus they’re so relaxing! The wood-fired saunas on the property are on the smaller side and fit 2-3 people comfortably. Book through the front desk when you get in to ensure you get some time in the steam.
Get Moving and Play Pickleball – Have you heard of Pickleball? It’s like a combination of tennis and ping pong and the Wydler has two courts to play in. Stop by the front desk for paddles and balls and go at it!
Explore on An Electric Bike – The Wylder Windham has electric bikes available to rent so you can ride around and enjoy the scenic mountain view. We didn’t get to do this since there wasn’t a child’s seat but we’ll do it next time.
Unwind in the Hammock – The best part of getting away at the Wylder Windham is how relaxed you feel on the beautiful property. The hammocks are close to the creek and it’s the perfect spot to unwind, meditate or enjoy a good book.
Game On in the Recreation Room – The babes are a competitive bunch so you know we hit up the game room! The recreation room has a pool table, Ms. PacMan, and foosball. The Wylder also has couches for a cozy movie night if you want to camp out there.
Cocktail Making Class – It’s five o’clock somewhere! We headed to the Babblers Bar and met up with Sheena, Babblers head bartender, and drink artist. We say she’s an artist because look how beautiful her cocktails are, they’re works of art! Sheena asked us what type of alcohol we want and we decided on tequila. From there Sheena walked us through making the perfect margarita. It was such a fun class to take on vacation.
Enjoy a S’more – By the restaurant, there’s a great seating area with fire pits and s’mores. We had old-fashioned’s, red wine and s’mores and had a great night laughing and chatting by the cozy fire.
Where to Eat at Wylder Windham
There’s one restaurant on the Wylder Windham property and luckily it’s amazing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Babblers Bakery is open first thing in the morning and you can get coffee, teas, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Then in the evening the bar and restaurant open and has so many amazing suggestions.
For dinner, we would stay for a while and enjoy the meal, talk to staff and locals, and enjoy the warm, friendly vibe of the restaurant. We enjoyed the mac and cheese (with extra cheese), steak frites, a legit cheeseburger, and twice-cut french fries. You can’t order wrong at Babblers!
The staff at the Wylder Windham goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. Come for a family vacation, girl’s weekend, or romantic couples retreat. When you book, tell them the babes sent you!
