I’m a chronic over-packer, so this handheld luggage scale has been a lifesaver to make sure I can squeak in under the weight limit. I also love using packing cubes to keep things organized and maximize space.”

“Use manual vacuum seal packing bags to get the most out of your space! I once traveled to 5 countries in Europe over two weeks with just a carry-on! Bring the right adapter for the outlets of the city you’re going to! Have a sheet mask and moisturizer ready on the flight to help keep your skin fresh in the air.”

“Roll your clothes instead of folding them like you would if you were folding laundry. By doing this, you’ll open up more space and make it so that you won’t cause defined lines in your clothes. Pack anything you need for your flight in your personal item that you’ll be carrying onto the plane. I suggest a backpack. And then pack extra clothes or shoes in your carry-on. While at the gate, when they offer to check bags without a fee, take advantage of that opportunity and check that bag. It’s one less thing for you to carry.”

My 5 carry-on essentials for a long flight?
1. Entertainment (laptop, book, headphones, magazine).
2. Sleep (Melatonin, pillow, eye mask).
3. Snacks (granola bar, fruit, all the water).
4. An extra outfit (just in case your luggage gets lost/delayed).
5. Toiletries (contacts, retainer, toothbrush, basic makeup, and skincare). My go-to facewash for traveling is @cetaphilus. You can find it at your local @walmart and in this blog post you can find a $4 coupon of any Cetaphil product. Click the link in my bio to find the post!

“Packing cubes are a MUST for me…I have compression packing cubes that really help me not only maximize space in my luggage but also keep my clothes organized. Be careful though, just because your clothing is compressed doesn’t mean it weighs less!!! I also like to bring a travel adaptor with me instead of bringing all kinds of bricks and cords. I love that it has both an outlet and two usb ports, so I can plug in multiple devices without all the extra bulk of bricks. Getting one that has multiple countries plugs included is a huge bonus!”
